Stop Making Movies with White People in Them, Nobody Wants to See That
The Star Wars reboot is gonna be off the chain
Yes, it needs to be said: The world is racist, and so are all movies made by, for, and about white people. It’s not enough to not be racist in your movies, they must be anti-racist. Don’t blame me, that’s just how math works.
It’s time to stop relying on white saviors to solve every problem. There are so many movies out there where a white person solves a problem that should have been solved by a person of colour. It’s racist, and it needs to stop. We’re watching.
We need movies where the main character is a person of colour who solves their own problems, without any help from a white person. For example, why hasn’t anyone remade “Avatar” and replaced Jake Sully with a second Neytiri? That would fix so many racial problems in one movie. It might help save the world, and reduce harm. It would certainly make me happy.
Instead of forcing another Star Wars sequel with some honky as the saviour of the universe or some shit, how about fixing the original and making both Luke and Leia trans, black, and angry? Or how about declaring the original trilogy non-canonical and starting over fresh with modern audiences like me in mind? I won’t go see a Star Wars movie either way, but you get the idea.
If Hollywood really wanted to help things, they would remake things like Rocky, only instead of “The Italian Stallion” it would be all about Apollo Creed and his plight as a BIPOC boxer. Can you imagine Rocky 3 being about Rocky fighting racism instead of Mr. T? Why are all of Rocky’s opponents either black guys or Communists? Hmm…I bet white people made this, huh?
It’s time to stop making movies where the white person is the center of attention. Make them about non-whites, period. Or else. Gentle reminder.
