We Need Another Gamergate, the First One Didn’t Stick
Why does this keep happening?
Another A-hole Gamer here! So #Gamergate, a movement that started as a grassroots effort to expose corruption in the games industry, has been flaring up again for the last few weeks, mostly due to the Period Quest controversy. Some people are claiming that it’s a cover for misogyny and harassment, but as usual, they’re missing the point. #Gamergate is about exposing the corruption and bias in the games industry, not attacking women or anyone else. It’s about standing up for gamers against those who would silence us. As it turns out, that’s a lot of people. But we will not be silent!
Let’s face it, we live in a world where facts don’t matter anymore. You are constantly being told that people who disagree with you are bad, evil, and need to be silenced. But #Gamergate is here to remind everyone that we are still alive and well, we won’t be silenced, and YOU are the one who is bad and evil. We are passionate about our games and our culture, and we will not be pushed around by those who want to control us and make us conform to their agenda.
The games industry has a history of corruption and bias, and #Gamergate is just trying to expose it. We’re not about hating women or attacking people who disagree with us. We’re about making sure that gamers have a voice and aren’t silenced by those who would use their massive institutional power to control us.
Did I personally make over 100 anonymous phone calls to female game “journalists” in the past week? Sure. Did they deserve it? Double sure. That’s not harassment, that’s called a just war. Look that term up in your woke Bible, snowflakes!
